Free Assange Now

We demand that Julian Assange be freed and compensated by the Swedish and UK authorities after four years without any charges and without any willingness from the prosecutors to advance the case, abusing discretionary prosecutor powers to persecute and limit the freedom of movement of a journalist. We demand that his rights are immediately restored, including his human right to enjoy asylum in the country which granted him protection, Ecuador.

We demand that the United States of America stop the ongoing Secret Grand Jury investigation and abstain from any attempt to imprison Mr. Assange. Imprisoning Mr. Assange would set a precedent that people and journalists that speak the truth about power should fear censorship and punishment.

If the United States and the European Union, especially Sweden and the United Kingdom, truly represent democracy then they should not prosecute a person for speaking the truth about the abuse of power or use indirect means of punishment, such as four years of effective detention without charge. This petition seeks to protect Julian Assange for his freedom of speech and demands that he is granted safe passage.

Vi kräver att Julian Assange ska frigöras och kompenseras av de svenska och brittiska myndigheterna efter fyra år utan några avgifter och utan vilja från åklagarna att föra ärendet, missbrukar diskretionära åklagaren befogenhet att förfölja och begränsa den fria rörligheten för en journalist. Vi kräver att hans rättigheter omedelbart återställs, inklusive sin mänskliga rättighet att njuta asyl i det land som beviljat honom skydd, Ecuador.

Vi kräver att USA stoppa pågående Secret Grand Jury utredning och avstå från alla försök att fängsla Mr Assange. Fängsla Mr Assange skulle skapa ett prejudikat som människor och journalister som talar sanningen om makten bör frukta censur och bestraffning.

Om Förenta staterna och Europeiska unionen, särskilt Sverige och Storbritannien, verkligen representerar demokratin då de inte borde åtala en person för att tala sanningen om maktmissbruk eller använda indirekta metoder för bestraffning, till exempel fyra år av effektiv frihetsberövande utan laddning. Denna petition är att skydda Julian Assange för hans yttrandefrihet och kräver att han beviljas trygg passage.

Nosotros, los firmantes, pedimos que Julian Assange sea puesto en libertad y que sea indemnizado por las autoridades del Reino de Suecia y el Reino Unido, después de cuatro años de libertad limitada sin que pesen cargos contra él y sin que exista voluntad alguna por parte de los fiscales, de avanzar el caso, abusando su mandato discrecional y convirtiendo a éste en una herramienta para perseguir y limitar la libertad de locomoción de un periodista. Demandamos que sus derechos sean restaurados de inmediato, incluyendo su derecho humano a disfrutar asilo en el país que le ha otorgado protección, Ecuador.

Demandamos que los Estados Unidos de América cierren la investigación por medio de un Gran Jurado Secreto y se abstengan de cualquier intento de arrestar al señor Assange. El arresto de Assange sentaría el precedente de miedo, castigo y censura para las personas y los periodistas que exponen las verdades ocultas de los poderosos.

Si los Estados Unidos de América y la Unión Europea, especialmente Suecia y el Reino Unido, de verdad representan democracias ejemplares, entonces no deberían procesar a una persona por decir la verdad sobre el abuso de poder, o utilizar medios indirectos de presión y castigo, como son cuatro años de detención efectiva sin cargos.

Pedimos que garantice la protección de Julian Assange, su libertad de expresión y disfrute de sus derechos humanos y que le sea otorgado salvoconducto para que éstos se hagan efectivos.
