Al cumplirse 4 años del asilo político de Julian ASSANGE, programador, ciberactivista, periodista y activista de Internet australiano, conocido por ser el fundador, editor y portavoz del sitio web WikiLeaks, en la embajada de la República del Ecuador en Londres, Inglaterra, el Centro Internacional de Estudios Superiores de Comunicación para América Latina (CIESPAL) organiza un evento académico para debatir cuatro ejes:

  1. Derechos Humanos y derecho internacional. El caso de Assange como paradigma de lucha geopolítica.
  2. Geopolítica y Luchas desde el Sur
  3. Tecnopolítica y Cyberguerra
  4. Desde los Pentagon Papers a los Panama Papers.

Este evento, que se realizará desde el 20 al 24 de junio del 2016, contará con la participación de relevantes académicos, activistas y profesionales de distintos países, tales como: Roy SINGHAM (EEUU), Ignacio RAMONET (Francia), Baltasar GARZÓN (España), Amauri CHAMORRO (Brasil), Emir SADER (Brasil), Carol PRONER (Brasil) y Evgeny MOROZOV (Bielorrusia). Adicionalmente, Julian ASSANGE realizará una conferencia magistral el jueves 23 de junio desde las 12h00.

Por parte de Ecuador participarán: Francisco SIERRA CABALLERO, Director General de CIESPAL; René RAMÍREZ, Secretario de SENESCYT; Rubén ZAVALA, MediaLabUIO; Orlando PÉREZ, Director de Noticias de El Telégrafo; Andrés ARÁUZ, Ministro Coordinador de Talento Humano y, Guillaume LONG, Canciller del Estado de Ecuador.

Asimismo se inaugurará una exposición digital de las mejores caricaturas realizadas sobre la temática.
